Vaughan Gething, Minister for Health and Social Care in Wales, pays tribute to Health Board staff

This afternoon (Wednesday 22nd July), staff at the Royal Gwent Hospital had the opportunity  to meet Vaughan Gething, Minister for Health and Social Care in Wales, as he thanked them for their amazing work throughout the Covid-19 Pandemic.

In his first visit to a Hospital since Covid-19 began, the Minister was accompanied by the MS for Newport West, Jayne Bryant. They spoke with a range of staff members - from Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists and Physiotherapists, to Domestic Staff, Porters, Student Nurses and Operational staff - about the roles they have played in the fight against Coronavirus so far.

Many staff members explained how they had transformed their usual places of work because of Covid-19, and described the challenges they have risen to and overcome together. One staff member told the Minister "We all played a big part in it".

Thank you to our incredible staff - you have all been, and continue to be, AMAZING.
