Community Spirit in Gwent for NHS75

To celebrate NHS 75, we were very fortunate to have received a number of lovely birthday messages from local residents, staff, our partner organisations and local schoolchildren.

Birthday wishes from local schoolchildren

We were very grateful to children from some local schools, who spent a great deal of time and effort decorating beautiful birthday cards and bunting to send to each of our hospitals.

Our staff and patients were delighted to see these displayed inside our hospital sites. There are some examples below of the fantastic designs we received - thank you to Coed y Garn Primary School, Garnteg Primary and Cwmbran Library for sending them to us!

Our Lady of the Angels Primary School in Cwmbran also sent our staff some lovely handwritten letters - thank you all.

Singing from Local School Choirs

We were also very lucky to have local school choirs attend some of our Health Board sites to sing for staff, patients and visitors.

A huge thank you to Penygarn Community School, Our Lady of the Angels School, Coed Eva and Blenheim Road school, and to Raglan School for uplifting us all with their brilliant singing!

A big thanks also to Newport Transport for saving the day and providing last-minute transportation to Coed Eva and Blenheim Road Primary School to ensure they were able to sing at The Grange University Hospital.
