Please be aware that Junior doctors across NHS Wales will be taking industrial action from 7am on Monday 25th March to 7am on Friday 29th March 2024.
In Gwent and across Wales, it is likely that this period of industrial action will affect the operations of the Health Board more severely than previously, due to it covering the Easter school holidays and the unavailability of many consultants, senior doctors and other clinical staff to provide cover. Services will be impacted by the strike but we are doing all we can to minimise disruption to our patients.
If you are a patient with a pre-booked appointment or procedure in one of our hospitals during the strike period, you will be contacted directly by our booking team should your appointment be affected. If you are not contacted, please attend any booked appointments as normal.
Those attending our Emergency Department at The Grange University Hospital will face long waits - please only attend if you are seriously ill or injured, or if there is a risk to life.
Urgent care advice is available through the Gwent Health Guide or by calling 111.
We would like to thank our patients and communities for their patience and support at this challenging time.
